San Marcos Academy recognizes employees for service

San Marcos Academy recognized two retirees and 10 employees recently for their service to the school. These recipients have contributed a total of 174 years of service to the Academy.
Dr. Arlis Hiebert, chair of the Fine Arts Department, is retiring after 16 years of service, while LTC Larry Revell, JROTC Senior Army instructor, is retiring after 13 years. Both were recognized by President John Garrison at an Employee Service Award Ceremony April 16. Some of their students were also on hand to pay tribute.
Two employees, Mary Alice Gallegos and Pauline Vargas, were honored for 35 years of service in the Laundry Department at the Academy, while faculty members Camillion McDonald and Dale Nave were recognized for completing 15 years at SMA.
Three individuals were honored for 10 years of service to the Academy. They were Corey Boyer, dean of boys; Donna Pizana, Learning Skills instructor; and Thomas Rhodes, adjunct faculty.
Finally, recognized for five years of service were Gabriela Arriaga, school nurse; Joseph Howe, assistant hall director; and Jessie Lopez Jr., maintenance.
