Isabel Q. Caņamar passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 at the age of 92. She was a long time resident of San Marcos before making Laredo her hometown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Celestino Quiroz Contreras and Andrea Saenz Medina, her sister, Hortensia Q. Montiel, her husband, Charles Caņamar and her sons, Fred Gonzales, Jr., Raul Gonzales and Robert Gonzales.
Mrs. Caņamar is survived by her daughter, Norma Gonzales, her granddaughters, grandsons, great-granddaughters and great-grandsons, Shirley G. (Steve) Matthews of Fort Worth, Melba G. (Don) Garner of Arlington, Fred Javier Gonzales of Los Angeles, Calif., Roberto Gonzales, Jr. of Laredo, Julia Isabel Gonzales, Raul Gonzales Jr., both of Florida, Freddy Santos Gonzales of Fort Worth, Michael (Kelly) Gonzales of Tulsa, Okla., Monica G. (Tony) Espritt of Fort Worth, Robert Garcia Gonzales, Clarissa G. Garcia both of San Marcos, Denise, Donelle, Jennifer, Zach, Josh, Diego, Antonin, Aden, Sophia Monica, Robert James, Felix Matthew, Celeste, Claudia and Christ. She is also survived by numerous other relatives.
A vigil for the deceased will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18 at 9:40 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2219 Galveston for a holy mass at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 3600 McPherson Ave.
