James ‘Curley’ Ford

James “Curley” Ford of San Marcos, loved and cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008, at the age of 91. He was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Dallas to James Love and Mary Lee (Greer) Ford.
Curley served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves in 1977. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion, Sons of Hermann, the Evening Lions Club, N.A.R.F.E. and the Retired Officers Club.
Curley has joined his beloved wife, Kat, who died in 2002.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann McGarrah and husband, Ron of Bakersfield, Calif. and Betty Ford Lane and husband, Radford of Midland; three grandchildren, Whitney Headriex and husband, Gary, Mark Lane and wife, Anitha and James McGarrah. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Headriex and Jennifer Headriex.
Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home, from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25 in the Pennington Memorial Chapel.
Interment will follow in Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale.
