Iola Ruth (Hill) Landureth

Iola Ruth (Hill) Landureth went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 23, 2008. Iola led a full life and will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Retired from Texas City ISD, Iola was born March 3, 1914, in Kyle. An organist and pianist in numerous churches, she also taught piano lessons to many students. Her love for God and music touched countless lives.

Iola is survived by her son, Jim Landureth and Lynda Zane of Kingwood; daughter, Karen Payne and husband, Thurman of Austin; sister, Norma Gummelt of Austin; grandchild, John Payne and wife, Amber of Cedar Park; grandchild, Brad Landureth and Rachel Roth of Houston; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brailey, Brianna, Brendan, and Bryden Payne of Cedar Park; along with many close relatives.

Iola was predeceased by her parents Otto & Minnie Hill; first husband, Lewis Landureth; her brother, Les Hill; and her granddaughter, Shawn Payne Kreisa.

She was also predeceased in death by her second husband, Reverend Jeff Clements, whom she married in 1994. His daughters are Betty Scull of New Braunfels and Lee Meyer of Austin.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thomason Funeral Home, 14700 RR 12, Wimberley. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church, 4000 E FM 150, Kyle. The burial will follow the service in Live Oak Cemetery, Uhland.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided by the staff at Deer Creek of Wimberley.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
