Jane Everline Aycock

Jane was born in Slaton to George and Nell Everline.
She grew up in Amarillo and was the valedictorian for the Amarillo High School Class of 1944.
In 1948, Jane graduated with high honors from Texas Tech University and received a degree in English Literature. Jane was married to Bill W. Aycock on Aug. 31, 1947.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill Aycock. Jane also has two sisters, Nancy Bassett of Marble Falls and Ann Payne of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by two sons, Dr. Mark W. Aycock of Houston and Dr. Steven M. Aycock of San Marcos, and their respective wives, Judy and Gina. The loves of Jane's life were her two grandsons, Will and Darden.
Jane was an active member of the Jamestown Society and various genealogical groups. She was the author of four genealogical books. Her favorite pastimes included genealogy, gardening, bird watching and her grandsons.
Family received friends at Pennington Funeral Home Saturday, April 26. Graveside services followed in the San Marcos Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Hagen officiating.
