Mary Lou Garcia

Mary Lou Garcia of San Marcos, loved and cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008 at the age of 63. She was born in Reedville on July 14, 1994 to Baslio and Cleotilde (Figuora) Salazar.

Her parents and siblings, Alfonso and Joe Salazar preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Garcia and wife, Melba, Jesse Garcia and wife Elvira and Toby Garcia; grandchildren Vanessa Mendez and husband Zachary, Jessica Garcia, Curtis Garcia, Katie Garcia, Jeffrey Garcia, Audrey Garcia and Brian Garcia, all of San Marcos; great-grandchild, Alexie Mendez; brothers, Luciano Salazar of Michigan, Martin Salazar of Lubbock; sisters, Mary Ramirez and husband, Ralph of Seguin and Clemencia Ojeda and husband, Carlos of San Marcos; uncles, Daniel Salazar of Denver, Co and Luis Salazar of New Braunfels; and local niece and nephew, Robert Joe Salazar and Melissa Salazar of San Marcos and many other family and friends.

Family received friends at Pennington Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary.

Mass of Christian Burial was held this morning at St. John's Catholic Church in San Marcos, with Rev. Larry Stehling, Celebrant. Interment followed in the San Juan Cemetery, Reedville.
