Kathryn Hendricks Rich
Kathryn (Kit) Hendricks Rich died on May 14 at her home in San Marcos.
Born on July 20, 1923, in Savannah, Ga., Kit graduated from Savannah High School, attended Vanderbilt University and earned a Masters degree in Classics from the University of Georgia. She taught Latin and the Classics on the high school level, was an accomplished pianist and served as advisor to the Sigma Alpha Pi honorary music sorority of Athens High School in Athens, Ga.
She was married to Dr. Francis M. Rich Jr. for more than 50 years.
She was a past regent of the Captain Thomas Moore Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution. Kit was a past president of the Spring Lake Garden Club and a member of the Violet Crown Garden Club. She was an avid gardener, Master Design Consultant, NAFAJ Master, consultant for Texas Design Seminars TAMU and a graduate of the Benz School of Floral Design.
Mrs. Rich is survived by her brothers, Lee Hendricks of Evans, Ga. and Edward Hendricks of Decatur, Ga. as well as by her daughters Kathryn Bradley (husband Tim Bradley) and Linda Rich of Honolulu; son Frank Rich and daughter-in law Deborah Rich, of Austin.
Visitation will be at Pennington Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 23. Service will be at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Wimberley, at 10:30 a.m. May 24.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Francis M. Rich Jr. Scholarship Fund at Texas State University or to St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Wimberley.
