Maria Louisa Rivera

Maria Louisa Rivera, a resident of San Marcos, was called to her eternal rest and was escorted by the Angels to be with our Heavenly Father on Aug. 19, 2008 at the age of 72.

Born March 15, 1936 in San Marcos, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her loving sons, Steven, Ruben, Joseph and Fabian Rivera; parents, Tito and Julia Eueste; brother, Rosendo Euests and sister, Consuelo Guadiola.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Rivera and wife Mary of Pflugerville, , Martin Rivera and wife Christine of Siblo, Gilbert Rivera and wife Sara of Virginia, Juan Gabriel Rivera of San Marcos and Juan Andres Rivera of San Marcos; daughters, Sanjuana R. Philips and husband Stephen of Florida, Ana Rivera of Natalia and Sandra R. Villegas and husband David of San Marcos; sisters, Ninfa Suarez of Lubbock, Juanita Lomelie of San Antonio and Belinda Torres of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be today from 2 - 7:30 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home, 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos. Recitation of Rosary will follow at 7:30 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church. Rev Father Enrique Diaz will officiate. Interment will follow in Memory Lawn Park in Martindale. Deacon Lalo Duran will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Jr. and Mark Villegas, Robert and Dominic Padilla, Robert Rivera Jr. and Domingo Ponce.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Rivera and Patrick Luna.
