Dr. William H. Kurtz


Dr. William (Bill) H. Kurtz, 69, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006. He was born in St. Joseph, Mo. on Nov. 8, 1936 to Harry and Leila Kurtz.

A respected professor in San Marcos for over 20 years, Bill was a graduate professor of Educational Administration and Professor Emeritus at Southwest Texas State University. He was also actively involved at First Christian Church as a board member and elder.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kurtz; son Scott Kurtz and wife Keri of Sugar Land; daughter Darcy Kurtz Wrench and husband Paul Wrench of Austin; sister Marilyn Cobb of Savannah, Mo.; aunt Helen Segrist of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; grandchildren Caitlin Kurtz and Chase Kurtz and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at First Christian Church in San Marcos, with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Cobb officiating.
