— J. Will Kelley, 93, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, 2010, surrounded by his family at home in San Marcos.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1916 in Denver, Colo., spending most of his childhood to adult life in Illinois.
He joined the Navy in 1942 and while stationed at NAS Corpus Christi as a radar instructor, he met the love of his life, Louise Graham. They were married on Aug. 7, 1943.
After many years working in the electronics field, J. and Louise settled in Woodstock, Ill., where J. was a district manager for State Farm Insurance for 25 years. Upon retirement in 1981 they returned to Texas, living in Austin for 23 years and the last five years in San Marcos.
J. and Louise celebrated their 66th anniversary in 2009.
He is survived by wife Louise, daughters Janet (Royce) Stacy of Glen Rose and June (Dan) Greer of Springfield, Ill.; son Tom (Sherlynn) Kelley of Austin, five grandsons, Dan Greer of Mountain Home, Ark., Stephen Greer of New York, N.Y., Will (Kristy) Walton of Kenai, Ark., Jason and Jared Kelley of Austin and two great-grand-daughters Alexis Greer of Mountain Home, Ark. and Sheridan Chase Walton of Plano.
Interment will be in the Duncan Family Cemetery in Flour Bluff.
