Lloyd Clayton Nobles passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 at the age of 79.
He lived in Boerne for many years and raised his family there.
Clayton graduated from Boerne High School in 1950, and then attended Draughon's Business College. He joined the Air Force for four years and served 12 months in Korea at Kimpo Air Base. Later, he worked in Civil Service at Kelly AFB and Camp Stanley.
He married Charlotte Noah of Boerne on March 20, 1953.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Maggie Nobles, brother Vernon Nobles, sisters Leva Smith and Inez Powell and granddaughter Erin Herber.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte Nobles and their six children: Mary Harris with her husband Rick Harris and their children Jason and Matt, Brenda Davis with her daughter Sara Kiefer and Sara's children Grace, Gabbie and Kaylie, Darlene Salmon with her husband Rocky and their children Travis and Megan, Roger Nobles, Lloyd Nobles with his wife Lisa and their children Emily and Daniel and Janet Herber with her husband Carl and their children Cody, Tyler and Kyle. He is also survived by his sister Louise Yarber and brother Clifton Nobles.
The viewing and funeral will be at Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos. The viewing will be today from 6 - 8 p.m. and the funeral service will be on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. Family and friends are invited to joining the family after the service at the VFW Hall in San Marcos from 11 to 2 p.m. The burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Feb. 2 at 10:30 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Clayton's grandsons Jason and Matt Harris, Travis Salmon and Cody and Tyler Herber.
