William ‘Bill’ Marburger

William “Bill” Marburger of San Marcos passed away on Jan. 19, 2009. He was born on Oct. 1, 1949, to Alvester and Dorothy Marburger. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Charles.

He is survived by his brother, Danny Marburger; sister Doris and husband Donald Schiwitz; nephew Donald Schiwitz Jr. and wife Aura; niece Carol and husband Jay Reeves; great-nephews Donald and John Schiwitz; great-nieces Sarah Reeves and Jennifer Schiwitz; his Uncle Benny and Aunt Regina Wyly, their sons Robert and wife Cara, James and his wife Elizabeth, Benny Jr. and his wife Carla and David and his wife Beverly; and cousins Keith, Jonathan and Steven Estes of Lufkin; his Aunt Betty Estes and her three daughters Tommy Jean, Tammy Lou and Terry Gail Estes of San Marcos.

Bill worked for 20 years at Texas State University in the plumbing department. He has many friends at the university and the family appreciates their care and friendship.

Uncle Bill loved to fish and attend barbecue cook-offs with his family and friends. He was loved by all those he would meet. He enjoyed life to the fullest no matter how ill he felt later in life.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pennington Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 in the Pennington Memorial Chapel.

The family would like to express gratitude to everyone at Vista Care, especially Mysti Garrett, his nurse, who spent many days and evenings with Bill.
