Grace Sanders

Grace Sanders of San Marcos passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009.

She was born on Oct. 27, 1928, in San Marcos to the parentage of Oleatha Williams and J.P. Foster, who both preceded her in death.

Grace was an active musician in the community for 68 years. She opened her heart to those in need of love and support.

She loved praising the Lord and giving words of encouragement to others.

Grace was a mother of nine. Two sons preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons, Rudy Coleman, Roy Coleman and Ernest Rudell Sanders; four daughters, Lois Ridge, Jo Ann Jones, Cynthia Gantt and Wanda Gardner; 33 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Hutson; sister Ellen Ruth Horne and a host of relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home, 6 to 8 p.m. today. Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18 at the First United Methodist Church in San Marcos, with the Rev. Derrick Benn of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale.
