Stacy Willis Votaw

Stacy Willis Votaw, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in San Marcos on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at the age of 91. She was born Jan. 25, 1918 in Lovelady to John Judd and Mary Ann (Odom) Atkinson.

Lovingly called “Nan-Nu,” Mrs. Votaw grew up in East Texas. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, she was an avid quilter, she enjoyed embroidering and she loved to travel.

Mrs.Votaw is preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Willis (1980), her second husband, Albert Votaw (1983), daughter, Mary Lee Rich, two sisters and three brothers.

She leaves behind a daughter, Johnnie Burdick and husband, Dick of San Marcos, sister, Ethel Marshall of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Danny Bosley of Houston, Sandy Rodriguez and husband, Danny of San Antonio, Mark and Carylyn Burdick of New Braunfels, Michelle Russo and Carlos of San Marcos, David Burdick and wife Lisa of Flower Mound, Amy Golden and husband, Richard of New Braunfels, and Nikki Skidmore and husband, Richard of San Marcos; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home, 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. in the Pennington Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Ray officiating. Graveside services will follow on Monday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Clapp Cemetery in Trinity.
