Sue Onstead Dunn

Sue Onstead Dunn of Austin went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 16, 2009, which was the same day she entered this world 83 years ago.

Sue was born Sept. 16, 1926 in Hereford, to Mamie Ella Winterrowd and William Roy Onstead. Sue spent 52 years in Austin, where she worked and raised her three children.

Sue relocated to live with her daughter in San Marcos in 2007 where she enjoyed family and friends.

Sue never met a stranger and touched the lives of many.

She is survived by her three children, son W. Craig Dunn of Leeander, and two daughters Sharon D. Holbrook of Groesbeck and Karen S. Dunn of San Marcos, who were all at her side during her last moments.

She is also “Nana” to three grandchildren, Courtney Imel Barkley and Ashley Imel Waller, both of Austin and Caleb Holbrook of Groesbeck.

Sue particularly adored her visits from her two great-grandchildren Chase Logan Conner and Avery Denise Waller, both of Austin, who will miss their “GiGi” dearly.

The family would like to thank our VistaCare Hospice family for their loving care and support.

Becky, Nancy, Chaplain Janet, Pattie and the rest of our hospice family in San Marcos brought many joyous moments and friendships which Sue cherished deeply. You rocked our world... Thank you and God Bless!

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Oct. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Price Senior Center.

The Price Center is located at 222 W. San Antonio St. in San Marcos.
