Rudolph H. Cruz passed away Sept. 25, 2009. He was born in Martindale on March 22, 1928 to George G. Cruz and Antonio Hernandez and was raised in San Marcos. He went into the Army in 1945 and served his country for three years. In 1949 he married Hortense Jaramillo of Hutto and moved to Phoenix, Arizona and worked for a sand and rock company. He was proud of his membership to the Operating Engineers Local 428 of Phoenix.
He is survived by his only daughter, Mrs. Georgine C Latham (widow of Davis E. Latham), his only grandchildren Ryanna C. Loyola, her Marine husband MSGT Daniel H. Loyola and their daughter Savanna J. Loyola, all of Camp Pendleton, California; Ms. Priscilla Cruz and her children Noveah and Jr. Cruz and David Hernandez, all of Seguin; and one grandson, William Evan Cruz, of Phoenix.
Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sons and one sister. All were from San Marcos.
