Inocente ‘Ike’ Garza

Inocente “Ike” Garza, 92, passed away on Oct. 23, 2009 at his home in Martindale.

Ike, born on Dec. 28, 1916, was one of 10 children born to Tomas and Soledad Garza. He is survived by one brother, Pedro Garza, of Coalinga, Calif.

Ike is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria Juanita; children Veronica (Gaspar) Garza-Vargas, Inocente Jr., James, Nancy, LeRoy (Shirley) of San Marcos, Randy (Yolanda) of Corpus Christi and Mary Lou (Leon) of Austin.

He will be dearly missed by many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ike made many friends over the years, and he considered them to be extended family members as well.

Under the direction of Goodnight and Snell Funeral Directors, a memorial service celebrating Ike’s life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Hill Country Event Center (formerly Valhalla Hall), located at 107 Centerpoint Road in San Marcos. www.goodnightandsnell.com.
