Ernest Marie Strader

Ernest Marie Strader was born Jan. 13, 1919 to Florence May Elms and Ernest Osborne Elms in Killeen. 

She passed away Nov. 16, 2009 in Houston. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ivy B. Strader Jr. 

She graduated from Killeen High School and Southwest Texas State.  She worked at Kelly Air Force Base in civil service for 30 years. 

After retiring she and Ivy enjoyed travelling the world.

She is survived by her sister Cecile E. Howard of Martindale; one nephew Micheal E. Howard of Benavides and one niece Deborah L. Grayson and husband Mark D. Grayson of Cypress. 

She is also survived by three great nieces and two great- nephews.   She is also survived by long time family friend Charles C. Van Siclen III. 

Graveside services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
