Christine Marie Thomas, born Dec. 25, 1920 to Oscar and Pearl Dycus, died peacefully at home on Nov. 19, 2009.
Christine was born and lived most of her life in Irving. The last years of her life were spent with her cousin, Marijo King and her husband Frank.
Christine was an active member of various organizations through the years, including president of the ABWA, Worthy Matron of Irving Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Pearl Dycus and her husband, Joseph Orville Thomas. She is survived by her cousin, Marijo King and husband Frank and their children, Cullen and Donna King, Jerry and Kristin King and Marilee and Paul Mayhew.
The family will hold a memorial service in the Grace Lowman Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, Saturday, Nov. 28, 4 p.m. with Dr. Jenna Hart officiating. Christine will rest in peace next to her husband in Oak Grove Memorial Park in Irving. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Central Texas Hospice, 1315 IH-35 N. San Marcos, TX 78666 or First United Methodist Church, 129 W. Hutchison St. San Marcos, TX 78666.
