For the second time this season, Texas State rides the momentum of a three-game sweep into a mid-week game against an in-state opponent.
Three weeks ago, the Bobcats took care of Seattle University and then went on the road to face Rice. Despite holding a lead throughout most of the game, Texas State saw the Owls score two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 4-3 win.
Then last weekend, the Bobcats exploded for 23 runs in a sweep of Louisiana Tech. Junior first baseman Austin O’Neal, who won the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week Award, led the charge with a monster outing at the plate (5 for 8 with three extra-base hits and seven runs batted in).
