San Marcos — The stars are going to be shining this morning at Quail Creek Country Club in San Marcos as the club hosts the Texas State Celebrity Classic golf and fundraiser starting at 9 a.m.
The public is invited to come and watch celebrities play golf starting at 9:30 a.m. and collect autographs afterwards.
The top star scheduled to appear is Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Samuel L. Jackson, star of many feature films including Pulp Fiction, Snakes on a Plane, Black Snake Moan and Home of the Brave. Jackson’s 2008 films include the Doug Liman sci-fi, action film Jumper and the quirky crime drama Cleaner. Jackson will star as the nemesis Octopus in Frank Miller’s action drama The Spirit.
Other that will be on hand include James McDaniel (NYPD Blue), Alfre Woodard (Desperate Housewives), Patrick Warburton (star of CBS comedy Rules of Engagement), Sam McMurry (Raising Arizona), James Hampton (The Longest Yard), former NFL Pro Bowler Austin “Goose” Gonsoulin, actor and comedian Burton “Bubba” Gillam (Blazing Saddles), Jerry Giles (Little Miss Sunshine), Richard Gant (Chicago Hope), Richard Dillard (Dazed and Confused), former NFL player Keith Cash, Golf Channel star and former Major League baseball player Dan Boever, Marshall Allman (Prison Break) and Leslie Easterbrook (Police Academy).
