— Mike Miller, who quarterbacked the Southwest Texas Bobcats to the 1981 NCAA Division II national championship, was recently named Director of Athletics at Judson Independent School District.
Miller, 50, was most recently the principal at JISD’s Katy Hawk Middle School, but is returning back to athletic administration after former AD Sterling Jeter left to coach football at Texas Lutheran University.
Previously, Miller helped win three Class 5A titles as quarterbacks and running backs coach at Judson High School.
Miller played football under the late Coach Jim Wacker at Southwest Texas. Wacker’s son, Mike, is currently the boys’ basketball coach at Judson High. Miller is a native of LaGrange.
