San Marcos —
The San Marcos Academy Bears ripped past the Lions of Sunnybrook Christian Academy of San Antonio for a 16-2 win in five innings on Galloway Field at A+ FCU Park.
The Bears rolled up 14 runs in the first inning as Will Haskin, Cameron Whitehead and starting pitcher Darby Rollins mashed run-scoring doubles deep into the outfield.
Rollins pitched two innings of shutout ball before being relieved by Justin Driscoll and Cody Dietert.
SMA returns to action Tuesday afternoon against Texas Military Institue at 4:30 p.m.
