San Marcos — Here is a putting drill that you will not only have fun doing, but will lower your scores at the same time.
Take three balls and start one foot away from the putting cup. Make all three putts and move back to two feet away. Continue doing this in one foot increments until you miss.
Once you miss, you must start over from the one-foot distance.
See how far back you can make it until you miss. I had a student who made it to the nine-foot line before he missed — and by the way he was 12-years old at the time.
Practicing short putts this way will also improve your lag putting because you can roll the ball close to the hole and know the short putt left is not that difficult.
Once you practice this drill you will have more confidence on your putting game and will start to see your scores lower.
See you at the club.
