San Marcos — The Texas State women's golf team will return as the defending champions of the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate today when they host the third-annual event at the Victoria Country Club in Victoria.
The two-day tournament will play out on the 6,080-yard, par 72 course, with teams playing 36 holes on Sunday and the final 18 holes on Monday, March 15.
The Bobcats shot a 920 team score last year to claim the title, and the mark is on par with their last two spring finishes. Texas State shot a 921 at the Miami Hurricane Invitational and a 919 at the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational.
Katinka Dufour, Krista Puisite, Gabby de Reuck, Caitlin Bliss and Valdis Jonsdottir will compete for the Bobcats team. Marlee Wilson, Jessica Salazar and Tiffany Morin will also make their spring debut's as individuals, alongside junior Trine Mortensen in the tournament.
Texas State will host Oklahoma, Akron, Brown, Northern Illinois, Arkansas State, Lamar, Sam Houston State, McNeese State, Stephen F. Austin, UTPA, Houston Baptist, Oklahoma City, St. Edwards, Redlands Community College and McClennan Community College.
An 8 a.m. shotgun start is set for both Sunday and Monday.
