San Marcos — Texas State's Victoria Davis was named to the 2009-10 Preseason All-Southland Conference second team recently league officials recently announced.
Davis averaged 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds last season and recorded a career-high 26 points in Texas State's 66-62 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus; Christi. The Fort Worth native posted her first-career double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds against UTSA last season and averaged 29.9 minutes per game.
The Bobcats finished last season with a 14-16 overall record and a 6-10 league mark.
After falling short in the final game of the season, Texas State narrowly missed the Southland postseason tournament for the first time in nine years.
Head coach Suzanne Fox will begin her 13th year at the helm of the Bobcat basketball program. She holds a career record of 275-217, the second-best win mark in SLC history.
Texas State will open the 2009-10 regular season Nov. 13 at Strahan Coliseum against Texas College. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
