High School Football: Hays manhandles Lehman

Buda — Lehman never stood a chance against Hays Friday night at Shelton Stadium.

The Rebels dominated the Lobos from the opening drive on offense and shut Lehman down on defense. Hays stomped the Lobos and walked out with a 27-7 win.

The Rebels defense was the star of the night, as they pounded Lehman's quarterbacks. Hays racked up six sacks and two interceptions and hobbled both Matthew Anguiano and Harvest Trammell.

Lehman only averaged one yard per carry (30 rushing yards) and had 12 plays for negative yards.

Torrance Smith had two touchdowns for Hays and Ty Andrews added two field goals.

The Rebels improve to 4-6 with the win and the Lobos fall to 5-5. Hays will play Huntsville in the Region III, Class 4A playoffs next week in Georgetown.
