CONVERSE — San Marcos traveled to the Judson Invitational last weekend and received a solid play from all of its golfers.
Zach Merrit led the Rattlers with a two-round score of 158 and San Marcos finished second in the tournament.
The Rattlers shot a 349 on the first day and a 322 in the second. San Marcos made up 27 strokes over the span of the two-day tournament.
While Merrit paced the Rattlers with his championship performance, Kevin Mathis, Landon Jiral, Jesse Acost and Eric Reyes were dialed in as well.
Mathis overcame a slow started an fired a second round 80, followed by Jiral’s 81 and Acosta’s 85.
Reyes, who shot a first round score of 111, turned in a spirited performance in the second round, carding an 82.
San Marcos returns to the links Nov. 23 at La Cantera (the Palmer Course).
