San Marcos — And we're live from Strahan Coliseum, home of the 2009 UIL State Volleyball Tournament.
FIRST SET: WIMBERLEY TAKES THE FIRST SET, 25-23. The Lady Texans used a 7-0 run to close out the set.
SECOND SET: Wimberley took an early lead in the second set, 5-2, but Lovejoy is storming back. The Lady Texans took a timeout after the Lady Leopards went up 8-6. Wimberley stormed back from a 15-8 deficit and now trail 15-13. Lovejoy needs a timeout. The Lady Leopards storm back and take an 18-14 lead after an ace. Wimberley calls timeout this time. 23-16 Lovejoy. The Lady Texans storm back and make it 23-20 in favor of Lovejoy. THE LADY LEOPARDS TAKE THE SECOND SET, 25-21.
THIRD SET: Wimberley calls its first timeout of the 3rd set -- the Lady Texans are down 7-4. Lovejoy extends its lead to 15-11 after several Wimberley mistakes. The score is now 22-13 in favor of Lovejoy. THE LADY LEOPARDS TAKE THE THIRD SET, 25-15.
FOURTH SET: Wimberley leads 6-3 in the fourth set and forces a Lovejoy timeout. Make that 11-4 Wimberley. The Lady Texans call timeout with their lead dwindled to 15-12. Wimberley calls its second timeout of the fourth set, as Lovejoy cuts into the Lady Texans' lead. It is now 19-17 in favor of Wimberley. It's all tied up at 20. WIMBERLEY WINS THE FOURTH SET, 25-22.
FIFTH SET: This will be the first tiebreaker of the 2009 State Tournament. Lovejoy takes an early 3-0 lead and the Lady Texans call timeout. The score is now 8-2 in favor of Lovejoy. 11-2 Lovejoy. THE LADY LEOPARDS TAKE THE FIFTH SET, 15-5.
