San Marcos — If nothing else, Friday night's loss will serve as a learning experience for San Marcos.
The Rattlers kept it close early, but fouls knocked them out of contention after halftime. San Marcos committed 34 fouls and lost 67-43.
After trailing by three points at halftime, the Rattlers went into the locker room with confidence. They were hanging with a far more athletic team in the Knights.
Once the second half began, Steele flexed its muscle and displayed its speed. San Marcos could only foul to keep them within arm's reach.
The Knights took 50 fouls shots in the game, making 34. The Rattlers, on the other hand, took 10 and made two.
Chris Threadgill led San Marcos with nine points.
