San Marcos —
The Hill Country Christian School Lady Rams are finally back in the friendly confines of their own gymnasium tonight when the team hosts First Baptist of Universal City for a 7 p.m. non-district game tonight.
The Lady Rams have played their last four games on the road and are coming off a hard-fought loss to Hill Country Christian-Austin Tuesday night. The Lady Rams were hoping to avenge a season-opening loss to HCCS-Austin. The Lady Rams dropped the match in three games, 25-17. 25-23 and 25-20.
“We did a lot of things right, but we will have to get better at our defense,” HCCS head coach Lolly Williamson said. “We reached season-high numbers in kills, assists, and attacks, and I am especially proud of how my girls never gave up. They fought hard till the very end.”
Senior Amy Norvell came through with a season-high 12 kills on 14 attacks, while freshman Ariana Rehm contributed four kills to go along with two aces.
Junior Jordyn Dixon guided the Lady Rams’ offense with 16 assists for her best effort of the season, while freshman Madi George added four assists. Junior Alyssa West turned in a solid defensive performance with five digs and two blocks.
Following tonight’s game, the Lady Rams are back in action Sept. 9 at home against Seguin-Lifegate.
