San Marcos —
Way to often golfers will start hitting at the ball on all of their shots.
When you start to hit at the ball on putts you will never stroke a putt with any feel. All you will be doing is slapping at the ball without much success.
Try this drill next time you are out on the putting green. With your left foot forward, for right handed golfers, bend your knees and roll the ball to the hole with your right hand. Try this several times and you will start to roll the ball very close to the hole and create some feel in the process. Now try putting the same distance as your were rolling the ball and see if you have better results. With a few practice sessions by starting out rolling the ball, you will develop a feel for putting.
And once you develop touch on the greens, you’ll start to notice the difference, particularly on your scorecard.
Good luck and see you at the course.
