National Signing Day might be a far way off — 222 days to be exact — but Texas State is quickly assembling what could easily be the best class of head coach Dennis Franchione’s most recent tenure in San Marcos.

In fact, when all is said and done, the Bobcats’ 2016 class could turn out to be the top group in the entire Sun Belt — most recruiting websites consider that to be the case right now.

Depth at pitcher has been one of Texas State’s weaknesses during the past few seasons.

On Thursday, the Bobcats officially signed the third pitcher of the offseason in Northeastern Oklahoma A&M’s Quincy Charleston.

Ricci Woodard’s recent junior college signees have shown that Texas State’s head coach knows that depth is an area of concern and that looking to bolster the bullpen was an immediate focus for this offseason.
