Bomb threat at San Marcos Regional Airport

San Marcos Police responded on Thursday to a report of a bomb threat at Blue Skies Aviation at the San Marcos Regional Airport.

The city said the business contacted police at 1:41 p.m., saying the threat of an explosive device in the building had been emailed, and went on to say that it would be detonated if law enforcement were notified or the building was evacuated. The email demanded payment via cryptocurrency.

Similar threats had been received across the state on Thursday.

Blue Skies personnel evacuated while police searched. Nothing suspicious was located and the business resumed normal operations.
