Brandon A. Theesfeld, a graduate of San Marcos Academy, has been charged with murder two days after a 21-year-old was found dead about 30 miles from the University of Mississippi.

Alexandria “Ally” Kostial was studying marketing, and according to a Facebook post made by her father, Heith Kostial, she was in the midst of attending summer school and teaching fitness classes when she was murdered.

According to a university spokesperson, Rod Guajardo, 22-year-old Theesfeld has been suspended from the university. Theesfeld was arrested on Monday. He graduated from SMA in 2016 according to the school’s director of communications, Shelley Henry. Theesfeld was represented by Swayze Alford during his appearance before Lafayette County Circuit Judge Andrew Howorth, according to the Associated Press.

Shannon Allen, a Fort Worth Country Day School spokesperson, told local outlets that Theesfeld attended school from 2012-2014, but did not return due to academic reasons.

"We are truly saddened by the death of Alexandria Kostial,” University of Mississippi Interim Chancellor Larry Sparks said.
