Donna Campbell

Donna Campbell is a 2018 candidate seeking re-election for the position of Texas State Senator representing District 25. She was born in San Diego, California but now calls New Braunfels her home. Campbell trained as a nurse early in her life earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Central State University, her Master’s degree in Nursing at Texas Women’s University and her M.D. at Texas Tech University in 1989. She became a Nurse in Critical and Intensive Care and Medical Director for the Emergency Department at Columbus Community Hospital where she still practices today. She is also a practicing Ophthamologist.  Since that time Donna forayed into politics to gain her current position as a Senator for the Texas State Senate and politics (2012-present). Campbell’s past political experience includes her position as a Precinct Secretary for Precinct 62 in Lubbock (1985-1986), Delegate to the Texas State Republican Convention in 1986 and Speaker at the Doctor’s Tea Party Convention in San Diego. She is also part of several civic, professional and politically based organizations including: (1) the American Academy of Physician Specialists, (2) Mothers Against Drunk Driving, (3) the Texas Medical Association, (4) the Texas Rifle Association and (2) the National Rifle Association. Campbell is also a volunteer for the Christian Eye Ministry.
