Ken Paxton

Ken Paxton is a 2018 Republican candidate seeking re-election to the office of Attorney General for the State of Texas. He was born in North Dakota at Minot Air Force Base and now calls McKinney his hometown. Paxton gave up his seat in the Texas State Senate (2012-2014) to run for Attorney General and was elected to that position in 2015.  Paxton also held a seat in the Texas House of Representatives from 2002-2012. He currently owns the Ken Paxton Attorney at Law and has since 2002.  He is also a Member of the Collin County Bar Association and has been an In-House Legal Counsel for J.C. Penney Company, Inc. as well as a partner in the Pittenger, Paxton, Nuspl and Crumley law firm.  Paxton is involved in many non-profit and service organizations including: (1) Board Member of the Prestonwood Pregnancy and Family Care Center; (2) Member of the Advisory Board for the Frisco Association for the Arts; (3) Founding Board of the Collin County Student Aviation Initiative; (4) Member of the McKinney Rotary Club; and (5) Honorary Chair for the Prosper Open Foundation. He is also part of many Texas Chambers of Commerce and is also on the Board of Directors for the Collin County Bar Association, Board of Directors for the Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment Zone for the City of Allen and is a Member of the Dallas Estate Planning Council. Paxton earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Baylor University in 1985, his Master’s in Business Administration from Baylor University in 1986 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School in 1991.
