Michelle Slaughter

Michelle Slaughter is a 2018 Republican candidate seeking election to the position of Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 8. She was born in Fort Worth, and Is a second-generation Texan. Slaughter is currently Judge of the 405 District Court, but is leaving her seat to pursue the position of Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals. She is a board-certified attorney and started her own law practice, The Slaughter Law Firm.  While she was in law school, Slaughter served as an intern for two federal court judges, Judge Sim Lake and Judge David Hittner. Slaughter also served as intern to Justice Tim Taft of the First Court of Appeals.  Michelle earned her J.D. and graduated cum laude. She is also part of several organizations including the Clear Creek Republican Women, Friendswood Republican Women, Galveston Republican Women, Republican Network, Mid-County Republican Network and Galveston Island and Bay Area Pachyderm Clubs.  She also co-founded the Galveston County Chapter of the Hispanic Republicans of Texas. Slaughter includes herself in civic clubs as well such as the League City Lions Club and sponsors the Galveston county Fair & Rodeo’s Senior Citizens Day.
