Wes Mau is a Republican candidate currently seeking re-election for the position of Criminal District Attorney Hays County. He is a Dripping Springs resident and is a well-traveled "military brat" due to his father's U.S. Air Force career as a Weapons System Officer and flying F-4 Phantoms. Mau was elected to his current position as Criminal District Attorney for Hays County in 2014, and in this capacity, he represents that State in all felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases in Hays County. Mau's prior service included Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Prosecutions Division of the Office of the Attorney General (2007-2014), Chief Assistant to the Hays County Criminal District Attorney (1998-2007) and Assistant District Attorney for Hays County (1994-1998). He worked for the Texas District and County Attorneys Association (non-profit) while he was attending the University of Texas Law. Mau received is J.D. from the University of Texas Law School in 1992 where he graduated as a Presidential Honors Scholar and National Merit Scholar.
