October is Manufacturers Month

The Hays County Commissioners Court proclaimed October as Manufacturers Month in Hays County and thanked the Greater San Marcos Manufacturers Association members for their economic impact to Hays County. The Association has engaged Hays CISD and San Marcos CISD to provide information about STEM-related educational pathways available within the manufacturing industry. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, areas that school districts work to encourage students to excel.

The average annual wage for jobs in the manufacturing industry in Hays County is $55,ooo, compared to the average annual wage of $39,000 across all industries. The manufacturing industry provides nearly 5,000 jobs and constitutes approximately seven percent of total employment in Hays County.
