San Marcos Pets of the Week

Cat of the Week

Glory is a true explorer. Whether climbing the highest shelf, or ducking under the kennels, this girl is eager to see the world. Glory loves humans, and will consistently check back in to say hello. She respects other cats, and makes new friends easily. Glory has a gorgeous ombre dark-to-light coat pattern, and piercing blue eyes. We took Glory to a Cat Café event in Kyle, and she did great with all of the humans and other cats. Glory would make a great addition to any family who is willing to cuddle when she wants cuddles and give her space when she needs it.

Dog of the Week

Sometimes the goofiest dogs are the cutest and Fiona is living proof. This four-year-old Chihuahua/Italian greyhound mix has a sever overbite that makes it impossible for her to eat anything but soft foods. But we think that it only serves to give her smile much more character. She is also great with other dogs. As soon as she sees another pup, she’ll initiate play with the cutest little hops around the floor. We recently took Fiona to a PetSmart Adoption Event and she was so well-behaved. She never pulled on her leash, she sat patiently for people to approach her, and she never got tired of meeting new friends. Fiona would be a wonderful addition to any family that loves to cuddle on the couch or go for short walks. Both pets are available at the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter, located at 750 River Road. Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All animals at the shelter are $90. This pays for their spay and neuter, first round of shots, rabies vaccine, microchip and city license. To learn more, visit the shelter at 750 River Road or online at www.sanmarcostx.gov/animaladoptions.
