Central Texas Medical Center’s HealthCheck— the oldest and largest health fair in Hays County— started as a small health fair with a few local vendors in the Central Texas Medical Center Main Lobby. Today, the annual event provides valuable free and dramatically discounted health screening services to hundreds of people in the local community.

The name of the event was changed to CREATION HealthCheck in 2014 to align with the hospital's CREATION Health wellness efforts. This year’s CREATION HealthCheck Screening and Health Fair will be held Tuesday, April 18 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in San Marcos. All participants are urged to spend an hour or more at the HealthCheck event to maximize their experience. More than 50 health-related exhibitors will be on site. Booths offering free screenings and assessments will be marked with a red balloon.

The annual CREATION HealthCheck event offers the following screenings at a discounted rate of $30:

Complete Metabolic Panel (screening for glucose, renal and liver disorders)

Lipid Panel (cholesterol with HDL/LDL breakdown, triglycerides)

Complete Blood Cell Count (white blood cell, hemoglobin, hematocrit and platelets)

Additional tests are also available at a discounted cost. The day of the health fair provides a chance for participants to have their test results interpreted by a medical provider and access dozens of health-related exhibitors who offer additional free screenings and information on site. Bilingual service is provided for those requiring it.

There are still opportunities to have your pre-event blood draw work done, call 512-753-3818 or visit CTMCHealthCheck.com for more information.
