David & Judy Sherrerd 50th wedding anniversary

David and Judy Sherrerd are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their marriage. They met at the young ages of 18 and 17 and married June 16, 1968 in Kearney, Nebraska with numerous family and friends in attendance.

Both worked several jobs to support themselves through college before settling down in David’s home town of Sidney, Nebraska to start their family. Happily, they welcomed three children.

In 1985 they took a leap of faith and moved across the country to San Marcos. David enjoyed a long and successful career at the family business, The Gift Shop Jewelers (founded in 1916) before retiring in 2011. David is a devoted family man, avid gardener and enthusiastic golfer. Judy focused on raising three busy children, assisting in the jewelry store and helping her community. She has served at Community Bible Study for over 20 years, as well as many church committees, prayer groups and bridge clubs. Together, David and Judy have fed countless people through the years, providing meals for campus ministry and church events, driving for Meals on Wheels, sharing meals, homemade bread and fresh produce from their garden.

Currently, they participate in many church and social activities and have a variety of hobbies that keep them young and active. They continue to enjoy their family, grandchildren and friends. The love between David and Judy is deep and certain. They have had a long difficult row to hoe and they have done it together side by side with integrity and character while maintaining a strong faith in the Lord.
