Economic Outlook to provide regional insight

The Greater San Marcos Partnership will host the ninth annual Greater San Marcos Economic Outlook Luncheon on May 22 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center, 1001 E. McCarty Lane

 The event will examine the trends, issues and regional strategies that will impact the future economy of Hays and Caldwell counties.

The program includes a keynote presentation by Sarah House, director and senior economist with Wells Fargo Securities. House covers the U.S. macroeconomy, including the labor market, inflation trends and business investment. She frequently provides economic analysis to The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News and NPR. In her keynote, House will share an overview of U.S. and Texas economic trends and provide insight into the region’s economic outlook. Wells Fargo is the title sponsor for the event. 

Following the keynote address, a panel of mayors will gather to discuss their approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities for economic growth. Participating mayors include San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson, Kyle Mayor Travis Mitchell, Lockhart Mayor Lew White, Luling Mayor Mike Hendricks and Buda Mayor George Haehn. GSMP Chair of the Board of Directors Patrick Rose, GSMP President Adriana Cruz and Wells Fargo Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking Services Anna M. Sanchez will also provide remarks. 

“As a champion for regional economic diversity and growth, GSMP looks forward to bringing together the business and political leaders throughout our region to share insights and gain a better understanding of the factors that will shape our future economy in the heart of the Texas Innovation Corridor,” said Cruz.
