Eye of the Dog Valentine's Show

The public is invited to the opening reception of artist and curator Jamie Lea Wade's exhibition, "Strange and Interesting Creatures" on Valentine's Day, from 6-9 p.m., at the Eye of the Dog Art Center. 

Wade celebrates diversity and the interconnectivity of all living things in her solo exhibition “Strange and Interesting Creatures” hanging in the DogsEye Gallery.

Widely-known for her "Lovecraftian" ceramic sculptures and other-worldly life forms, Wade expands her visual vocabulary by introducing a variety of fiber arts and works on paper. 

Wade believes that we are all strange and interesting creatures; wondrously beautiful, with unique strengths, weaknesses, desires and destinies. In this newest body of work she invites all to dream, investigate and appreciate what is possible beyond words.

Attendees can dress in costume or come as they are, but all are welcome to come out and celebrate the strangeness of life at the DogsEye Gallery, located on the grounds of the Eye of the Dog Art Center. The show will hang from Feb. 14- March 13.

A portion of the sales from this show will go towards helping animals devastated by the Australian Wildfires. 

Internationally known artists and teachers, Billy Ray and Beverly Mangham have spent over 30 years creating, selling and teaching art. Now they’ve brought everything they know about creativity, community and the human spirit to Eye of the  Dog Art Center in San Marcos. Whether you’re a master artist, a novice, or something in between, Eye of the Dog offers classes and workshops that meet students where they are.
