Residents are also encouraged to use the non-partisan online guide to voting, Vote 411.org. Upon entering a home address, individuals can view and compare the candidates and their responses for that particular voting precinct.

Previously known as San Marcos League of Women Voters, the league is a nonpartisan organization open to both women and men dedicated to voter awareness and education.

The league believes in the representative form of government and individual liberties established in the Constitution of the United States. A guiding principle of the League is that “government depends upon the informed and active participation of its citizens and requires that governmental bodies protect the citizen’s right to know by giving adequate notice of proposed actions, holding open meetings and making public records accessible.”

The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 10. Early voting is Monday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Nov. 3. Election day will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

See the League’s Voters Guide for the location of local polling places, which may differ from past elections.
