Home Grown variety show set for Sept. 15 at Price Center

Sunday, September 11, 2022

The Ron & Marie Jager Theatre Stage will come to life on Sept. 15 with an old-fashioned variety show featuring the musical, dance, spoken word and comical talents of several San Marcans who will lend their talents to us for a full night of fun, friendship and fundraising for the Price Center. Tickets are $10 and $1 concessions will be available at the door beginning at 6:30 p.m. The curtain will rise at 7 p.m..

“The Price Center has been highlighting the visual and musical arts pretty well for several years now,” vice chair of the Price Center Board Anna Broome said. “I’ve had a dream of showcasing the broader talents of the community for some time now and this variety show is one of what I hope will be many.”

Broome’s dream will initially be realized in the form of a 90-minute fundraiser for the center. Based on its success, the variety show could become an ongoing showcase event. Guests of this inaugural event will enjoy a lineup of acts that includes spoken word, two piano performances, stand-up comedy, ballet, guitar and vocals, dojo and vocals, group dance, clowning and a vocalist.

Community Art Shows and artistic performances are conducted by the Price Center Arts Committee and funded in part through grants from the San Marcos Arts Commission.
