The Journey Continues: More on change

My journey this week will continue on the subject of change.

I started life on a remote ranch in West Texas; our house had no electricity or phone service. Our community had a post office, church and school – until the drought of the 1950s. Then the great exodus of rural Texas saw my life change through closures and consolidations.

Now I am slowly entering the technology change bought on by iPhones, wifi, internet and Google.

What is change in your life bringing?

St. Paul gave some really thoughtful advice in Philippians 3:13-14.

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended (everything), but this one thing I do (apprehend), forgetting those things that are behind, and reaching forth into those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ”

Paul, I believe, is saying facilitate change, we need to work on moving on moving on, forgetting our past and practice living in the now. Where, if one seeks, there is the unchanging God, who is also the loving savior – the same yesterday, today and forever available.
