San Marcos Pets of the Week

Dog of the Week

If you are looking for the best dog, your search is over. Grant is the sweetest, most playful, loving dog you’ll ever meet. He just cannot get enough snuggles in his life. He loves to shower people in kisses and will happily roll over for belly rubs. Grant is fantastic with other dogs, always wants to play and socialize and he is wonderful with kids. He puts up with the occasional finger in the eye, or tugs on the tail, just so he can give kisses to even the smallest of children. Grant is the kind of dog that would fit into any home perfectly, and has quickly become a shelter favorite.

Cat of the Week

Ralphie is one cool cucumber, because he’s pretty and he knows it. Ralphie doesn’t like a lot of fussing or bother, he’d rather play on his own. He likes to explore every inch of his surroundings, climbing under the kennels or on top of the shelves to get a new perspective. He gets along just fine with other cats, and would make a great fit for anyone who is looking for a low-maintenance companion cat.

This month is Cat Adoption Month. All month long, cats and kittens are adoptable for only $30. This pays for their spay and neuter, first round of shots, rabies vaccine, microchip and city license. And from June 15-30, all adult dogs are $45. To learn more, visit the shelter at 750 River Road or online.

Both pets are available at the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter, located at 750 River Road. Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
