A Word About Recycling

Earth Day is again coming up. However, rather than just a one-day activity, this year a three-day activity is planned… starting on April 20-22. Today, we will mention a website to see a few of the activities plans planned…including a recycling game you can play if you’re still holed-up with the virus. Incidentally, this is the 51st year of celebrating Earth Day.

Planet Earth focus of inspired new gallery show

A call to honor the planet in support of earth day has produced a vibrant, smart, and varied look at earth through 69 works of art by 42 area artists in a new gallery show hanging now through May 22 at the Price Center in downtown San Marcos. Most of the artwork is available to purchase and a portion of any proceeds benefits the nonprofit Price Center’s ongoing community arts efforts.

Petunias for Pollinators: It could be paradise

Petunias for pollinators, could be paradise, at least it seems this way at The Garden Guy’s house. First off, my wife Jan and I are having the most beautiful spring EVER. Not too long ago I wrote a column that planting a fall crop of Supertunias was a great idea. That is proving to be a huge understatement as that October planting survived the winter and is making an incredible display in both the landscape and containers.
